JANASETHA
Janasetha- Caritas Kurunegala marks its birth in the year 1987. It is the “social arm of the Catholic Diocese of Kurunegala”, which extends its services right through the district of Kurunegala without any distinction of religion, caste, race, etc. SEDEC is another identified name for the same, which means Social and economic Development Center. The services of Janasetha covers every single aspect of Human life. Namely; education, Economy, Peace and harmony, Inter-religious affairs, youth and children, etc. Our target is not just giving and keeping aside, but to see the sustainability of the society.
As we are a branch of Caritas Sri Lanka, we work in full cooperation with the head. And as a Diocesan Center, we work in full cooperation with the Roman Catholic Bishop of Kurunegala and all the affairs of the diocese of Kurunegala.
Keeping alert, we extend our hands to support the society according to the need. Once again Janasetha works as one of the seven committees in the Catholic church and is called the “Justice, Peace and Human Development committee”.
Human Development is the final goal of all our activities. There we look forward to see that all the people will live a dignified life and that is social justice.
